Chairman Board of Governors

Prof. Ramesh Venkateswaran, Chairman Board of Governors, IIT Palakkad  is  a management professional and educator. He is a mechanical engineer from IIT Bombay and a Post Graduate in Management from IIM Bangalore and is an adjunct faculty in the Marketing area at IIM Bangalore and IIM Udaipur. His areas of interests include Product Strategy, Customer Experience Management  and Strategic Selling. Ramesh Venkateswaran was a recipient of  Distinguished Alumni Award of IIM Bangalore in 2009. He  was the Gold Medalist of his batch of 1980 at IIM Bangalore. Currently he is also a member of the Board of Governors of The Lawrence School, Lovedale, – a 170 year old residential school in Ooty.

Apart from being a management consultant who worked with a large number of Indian and Multinational companies in the country, Ramesh Venkateswaran has  served  as the Chairman of Customer Service Excellence Foundation, the Director of SDM Institute for Management Development, Mysore and as an Independent Director of Patni Computer Systems Limited. He was also the Headmaster of The Lawrence School, Lovedale, Ooty.

Ramesh Venkateswaran is also closely involved with various socially relevant issues and projects. He is a Founder Member, Chairman and volunteer at Vishwas, a not for profit counseling organization in Bangalore, that offers free and confidential counseling services for people in emotional stress since 1991. He is a trustee in Bangalore Medical Services Trust, a leading  blood bank based in Bangalore and was President of The Richmond Fellowship Society, Karnataka – an organisation that offers care to mentally ill adults.

As a keen sportsman, Ramesh Venkateswaran has represented his state at the National level in Badminton.
