IIT Palakkad Researchers Developed A Novel Macrocyclic-based Fluorescence Chemosensor for the Detection and Quantification of Anticoagulant Drug “Heparin”

Heparin is an essential biomolecule and an anticoagulant drug clinically used during surgery and dialysis machine. For its safe clinical use, accurately determining the concentration of heparin is significant. The Researchers from IIT Palakkad, Dr. Shanmugaraju Sankarasekaran and Ms. Binduja Mohan, have developed a novel macrocyclic-based fluorescence chemosensor sensor for the detection and quantification of Heparin drug. This finding has appeared in the journal Dalton Transaction (https://pubs.rsc.org/en/content/articlelanding/2023/dt/d2dt03079a). This work has been selected as a hot article and published on the front cover.
